Stake Relief Society 1st Counselor
Responsibilities
Assist the stake presidency and instruct and support ward relief society presidencies. They do not fulfill assignments that should be fulfilled on the ward or family level. Specific responsibilities of the stake relief society president include:
- Orient newly called ward relief society presidencies
- Provide ongoing encouragement, support, and instruction for ward primary presidencies and teachers
- Meet with ward relief society leaders regularly to learn of their needs, discuss the needs of their members they serve, and communicate information from the stake presidency
- Periodically visit ward meetings and classes as arranged with ward leaders
- Instruct ward relief society leaders in the stake auxiliary leadership meetings
- Counsel together as a stake relief society presidency regularly
- Meet regularly with a member of the stake presidency and the assigned high councilor assigned to Relief Society
- Serve on the stake council
- Submit recommendations to the stake presidency about members to serve in the stake relief society organization
