Responsibilities

Is a member of the bishopric. Takes delegated responsibility for any duty assigned by the stake president. May act temporarily in the place of the stake president, except as noted in the Handbook. The bishop has five principal responsibilities in the ward:

  1. Presiding high priest
  2. President of the Aaronic Priesthood
  3. Common judge
  4. Oversees welfare matters
  5. Oversees records, finances, and the use and security of the meetinghouse
